We spent our second week of RV’ing in Nashville, TN, at another US Army Corp. of Engr. campground. Seven Points is a beautiful campground on J. Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage, TN. It is just 10 miles East of Nashville. The campsites are very large and wooded, giving you the feeling of privacy on the lake.

The roads are very narrow at Seven Points and maneuvering a 40 ft RV can be a little tricky, especially for us newbies. It was a little difficult to back into our site considering the narrowness, and the stone wall on the opposite side of the road which we had to deal with. All-in-all we were successful at backing-in on the 1st attempt. However, once in, we decided we didn’t want to do that again so we learned how to limit our water use, as there are no sewer hook-ups in the Corp of Engr campgrounds.

We are beginning to love the US Army Corp of Engr campgrounds. They are very clean, private, have large sites, are on nice waterways or lakes, and you can’t beat the price of $12/day for anybody having the US Senior Park Pass (age 62 and above – which Charlie qualifies, but not me. Many years away for me:-) ).

 

 

While in Nashville we took a few day trips. We visited the Andrew Jackson Hermitage. It was very informative. The tour took about 3 hours. I’d highly recommend it.

 

 

We also visited Franklin, TN. It is a quaint village with great shops and restaurants. We had lunch at Puckett’s Grocery & Restaurant. Both the atmosphere and food were fantastic.

 

 

After lunch we drove along beautiful country/farm roads to Leiper’s Fork, TN. We passed many scenic horse farms along route 96 and 46. There are a few art, antique, and historic shops in Leiper’s Fork, as well as an old police car on the side of the road.

 

 

On the way back to the campground we stopped by Arrington Vineyards for a bottle of wine. It is a vineyard which friends of ours, the Huntley’s, introduced us too. It is a great place to visit in the summertime, as you can sit outside and enjoy any food you choose to bring, and a good bottle of Arrington wine while looking out over the vineyards. It was a little chilly on this day though.

The weather finally turned sunny and warm the day we were leaving so we spent the morning hanging out on our ‘private’ sandy beach in front of our site. We will definitely return to Seven Points again.
