Cumming, GA – Bald Ridge Creek Campground – April 19-30, 2016
After spending a night in Red Bay, AL to get our Dish Satellite system installed we headed to Georgia. We were excited to get home to visit with family and friends, and to give tours of our new toy.
Bald Ridge Creek Campground is another US Army Corp of Engr. Campground. As I mentioned in my earlier posts, we really love these campgrounds. We stayed in 2 different sites over the period of 11 nights. Charlie wanted the site that was more open, while I wanted the one that was wooded and set back on a peninsula. So, we split our time between the two. Both were fantastic.
Charlie was able to play with another one of his toys while we were in the Atlanta area. He has a Diamond DA40 plane. We flew it over the campground and captured some pictures. You can see our coach in the open area, just behind the white RV.
Site #44, which Charlie chose, was very nice. The lot itself was very spacious, although the afternoon sun was pretty fierce. Our granddaughter appreciated the fact that she could wade in the water just outside the coach.
Site #30, which was my choice, was set out on a wooded peninsula. It was very private. You could stroll to the end of the peninsula for a view of sunrise and sunset. Below is a sunrise picture I captured one of the early mornings.
Site #30, before our move-in.
In the early mornings I’d stroll around our private peninsula and find lots of birds, including woodpeckers and a blue heron.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bald Ridge Creek CG. It’s location to our home base, friends and family is perfect.
