We’re back!

We’re back!

It is hard to believe that it has been over 2 years since my last post. I thought it was time to start it back up.

Over the past 2+ years, we took one 6-week road trip out west and another, much shorter trip, to northern Michigan. Aside from that, we kept busy with home projects and family. We sold our Atlanta house, as well as our coach house at Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort. We found ourselves constantly on the go, even when we were “home.” We now have just one house, located on Lake Chatuge in Hiawassee, GA.

Charlie and I are eager to get back to having fun exploring the world. In less than a month we head to Norway for Viking’s Homeland Cruise. We will be exploring Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Aland Islands, and Sweden. We are very excited about this trip. It has been planned for nearly two years, as something to look forward to after the COVID pandemic. We never thought that COVID would still be around, and still be a concern. In addition to exploring all of these new destinations, I’m also looking forward to being pampered on the Viking ship. We’ve traveled with Viking once before and fell in love with their hospitality and service.

In early September, we embark on a 6-week RV trip. We’ll work our way north, traveling through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and across the northern part of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. In ND we meet up with a Fantasy Tours RV group and head into Canada. Our destination will be Churchill, Manitoba to see the Polar Bears. There are no roads leading into Churchill so we will leave the RV in Thompson, Manitoba, and fly into Churchill.

In December we fly to South America for two more Viking Cruises. The first will be our much-anticipated trip to Antarctica. Immediately following that cruise, we catch another Viking ship and travel through the Chilean Fjords.

I anticipate keeping up to date on the blog going forward. I hope you’ll enjoy the posts. Let me know if you do, as writing a blog is not my favorite thing to do. Positive feedback helps.

Anyway, I just wanted to touch base and let you know that Charlie and I are well. We hope you are too! Keep an eye out for future posts covering our upcoming trips. You may even see a post soon about our road trip that we took back in April/May of 2021.  Better late than never, I guess.

  1. Heeeeyyyyyyyy! You’re back!

And you’ve got some EPIC travel plans coming up! Seriously… polar bears and penguins in the same year? Europe and South America? Cruising and RVing? I agree, who’s got time to manage multiple properties?? Life is short. Go, go, go!

I cannot wait to hear about all of this!

    1. Laura, we are really looking forward to traveling again. I hope your moving plans are going along smoothly. Surprisingly enough, we may eventually have an opportunity to meet up with you. Obviously, not on the road anymore, but in 2024 we will be in Lisbon for a day! We are taking the Viking World Cruise from Dec 2023 – May 2024 and Lison is one of the ports we visit.

      1. Oh, that’s awesome! That world cruise looks amazing and if you come through Lisbon, we’d love to meet up. Just keep me posted on the specifics and we’ll make it happen! Safe travels in the meantime!

  2. Hi Kelley and Charlie! Sounds like an amazing year of travel coming up!! We look forward to your photos and stories of those fantastic destinations.

    1. Karen, we are keeping our fingers crossed that we continue to be healthy so that we can enjoy all of our planned trips. We’ve had these trips planned for YEARS! As you know, COVID put everything on hold. Although, I think I enjoyed the break. It gave us an opportunity to be with family and friends, and to downsize our real estate. Now we are looking forward to getting back into the travel groove. Hope you and Gerry are well, and that our paths cross before too long.
